| My faith story: | I was baptized as a child belonging to a predominately Catholic family. Church was something I was never exposed to growing up. But my Mother taught me The Lords Prayer. She taught me to say it every night. As I was growing, I didn't recognized all the blessings that came from praying. Looking back now, I can see all the love bestowed upon me. Inside I am so torn up because I've taken His love for granted, going my own ways, and He's protected me all this time. You see, my Mother was my world. And I lost her when I was 20. After that, drugs became my escape from everyday trials. It was so easy and nice to have chemicals that helped me forget about the real world. I'm having a hard time with that now. I suffer in my addiction every day and it's something that I am not proud of. By all means, I shouldn't be here right now. I've experienced life threatening events that should have taken me long ago. The only word to describe it, is a miracle. Because I still suffer in my addictions, I feel like a hypocrite and a loser. The only thing I truly have right now, is His word. It's taken everything I've been through to realize that I was put here to worship him. Is my worship true? I doubt myself and say that it isn't because I've had such a hard time letting go of the only life I've truly ever known. So here I am. |
