A little about Andrea P.
I love the idea that WHO I am will never change, but what I do can change completely. I have become brave about showing my SELF to the world - not a pulled together, has all the answers me; but the real me... The recent focus of my spiritual life has been understanding who I am - who I was created to be. I have "profile" information, but I am so much different than any of that sounds. In fact, I've recovered from being a performance based church worker. I love to have coffee and good debates with my friends and enjoy being with my family. I like to learn new things, read, and write. There is nothing better than to be challenged to think about things in a whole new way. I love the freedom to see the world through someone else's eyes.

| Favorite verse / quote: | Galatians. I love to sit and read Galatians with a cup of coffee. Romans. It is so open. 1 John. LOVE! What more could you ask for? The overall message of the Bible is so beautiful - but truth can get twisted into unhealthy beliefs when verses are taken out of context. If I had to pick 1 verse, it would be... John 3:17 - "God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world, through Him, might be saved." |
| My faith story: | I used to be very legalistic and hypercritical of myself and others. Thank God he sent me a liberlal, agnostic friend - who met me in the middle. I thought I was free, a Bible thumping "believer" talking about the love of God. No one could have told me I was enslaved by a misunderstanding of the truth. I had to be shown. Just like the Lord always seems to do, He used a very unlikely person to reach me. I am PASSIONATE about sharing God's message of freedom in Christ. I've read the forums on sites of FORMER Christians, and I believe they were only given half of the message - the same half I was clinging to for so many years. It is more a gentle presentation of the law or rules - than a sharing of the Gospel, which is too bad because people either walk away from that - or do what I did, which is to stay and labor under the heavy burden of trying to be a "perfect" Christian. I want to talk about LOVE and about my value to God - I mean being loved enough by Him to be ransomed with the life of His Son! Nothing is more inspiring than to know I'm accepted and worthwhile just because I'm me. God is the Creator - He is a master craftsman and His work is VERY GOOD. The only person who can live my life the way it was intended to be lived - is ME! The only way to be free to live that life is through a relationship with God through Jesus. If someone would have told me that I would question EVERYTHING I believed, rethink my relationship with the Lord through agnostic eyes, write a book about finding FREEDOM and sharing the message of the GOSPEL in an almost inside-out style... well I would have walked away. I am having the time of my life and I hope everyone who reads this is living an ABUNDANT, spiritual life. |

| Overview: | I wrote a book with my best friend. When we met we were completely opposite in our spiritual orientations. I was a legalistic Christian - she was agnostic. We pushed past our differences and found the authenticity to engage in real, honest dialogue about what we were missing, her from the professors, me from the pulpit... A few years later, we have found the truth that brought her to her knees and me to my senses! Our book is called, The Apple You Were Fed. Several churches are teaching it in womens Bible studies, and there are a number of book clubs reading it. |
